As I close my eyes and think of the word “home,” I have a vivid image of the beach. Growing up on the Jersey Shore meant sand was between my toes on a regular basis. Salty air, crashing waves, screeching seagulls…these memories instantly conjure feelings of happiness, peacefulness and family.
Creating jewelry is my greatest passion, and I absolutely love doing it every day. The CMD studio is bursting with inspiration, productivity and laughter. But at the end of the workday I’m oftentimes thinking dreamily of my favorite creative outlet – cooking in my kitchen.
Our delicate chains are a modernized take on the classic tennis bracelet – distinguished, practical and eye catching. What more could a bauble-loving lady ask for? We love seeing them paired with printed tunics, solid tees, flowing skirts or an LBD.
My love of craftsmanship spans far wider than design, especially in the form of food and drink. Artisan coffee, farm-to-table fare, distinctive wines, delicately prepared sushi; I revel in a well-made provisions. But number one on my decadent bite list is definitely oysters.
You may have heard me mention the versatility of having stacks of rings; one of the many perks is wearing them individually. For the first time, CMD is selling individual rings on our website. I am loving this whole new take on the stackable ring experience. It’s a rather sexy statement, wouldn’t you say?
I am thrilled for the changes and growth 2013 will bring, and I’m so proud to reflect on my sweetest moments of the last year. We’ve built an amazing, solid team of talented ladies who are all excited to be part of CMD. I’m restructuring the foundation of the business and am so excited for the direction we are heading.
I wear stackable rings, in one way or another, Every. Single. Day. Their unique square shape juxtaposed with the mixed metals makes me feel feminine (despite chipped nail polish!) whenever I arrange them across my fingers. Please note they have rounded edges – handmade with wearability in mind!
I remember my first experience seeing someone wear CMD jewelry in public. While at Rainbow Grocery in line to checkout, I looked up from my cart of deliciousness to see a woman in front of me wearing my hammered oval hoops. Unbeknownst to her I stood feet away, my heart swelled with pride.
It was truly spectacular to create such special pieces for two of my absolute favorite people. It’s such a joy to know they wear my jewelry everyday as a symbol of their commitment. In honor of their first anniversary I wanted to share this great story and remind my lovely readers that CMD is a great bridal resource.
One of my favorite emerging looks from CMD this season is oxidized silver combined with gold. Oxidization is a surface treatment that creates a controlled, darkened patina on the silver. It transforms shiny sterling silver into an unexpected matte black, and I am absolutely loving it with gold.
