I was born and raised in New Jersey and I do miss the dazzling changes that happen during the fall foliage season. And really, who doesn’t love some good sweater weather? It’s a time to be cozy and warm, yet stylish, and this time of year I find myself drawn more and more to longer layered mixed metal pieces.

Even though Sam loves being a part of the CMD team, it was becoming too much (nearly 1.5 hours/day, which we all know is not a very good quality of life). After some team brainstorming and good planning meetings, we got her set up with her very own home studio. I am thrilled we could make this happen!

This time of year has different meanings and feelings for everyone…this I know. For anyone out there also hustlin’ this December, remember to take a moment and savor some of the magic. For anyone out there who also feels down or lonely this time of year, remember that you are loved and to be really good to yourself. 

Having grown up on the east coast, a balmy summer day that rolls into evening is nostalgic, and I’m currently in Trumansburg, NY soaking it up. With bicoastal CMD production studios, I have a chance to spend time a fair amount of time in New York during all four seasons. Summer certainly has the most distinct vibe...

Sam is creative and curious (and even moonlights as a tattoo artist). She cites our Black & Gold Mini Inflecto Necklace as one of her favorite CMD pieces because of the asymmetry and gold/oxidized silver juxtaposition. Sam’s a rockstar at her job, and we are all so glad she’s part of the team.

CMD runs on woman power, and we’re all the stronger for it. We were delighted to spend the last few days at our New York Production Studio, all the way across the country from our San Francisco HQ. While we may span time zones, our common passions, worth ethics and respect for one another keep us closely tied together. 

Showcasing silver and rose gold with a hint of oxidized silver, she styles this piece uniquely by pairing it with a little black dress, chain resting against her neck, and the arc hanging on her back. Sam names this sleek and simple piece as a staple in her wardrobe.

Ary wanted to grow with us, and we love having her as part of the team, so we’ve rented her a studio in Trumansburg (four hours upstate from NYC) where we plan to begin building a small team who will handle much of our east coast wholesale production. The space is the perfect size for us to grow and build….so exciting!!

Colleen herself is at the helm of the CMD ship, but many talented hands help keep it humming. The staff at the showroom, in the studio and far beyond are a vital part of the brand, and they’re some of our biggest fans. Frequently on the blog we’ll feature our extraordinary staff and share what CMD jewels they love the most.
