Recently, I had the pleasure of working with a wonderful client who traveled all the way from Long Island—a two-hour journey—to visit me at The CMD Shop in Asbury Park, NJ. Robyn had been eyeing our Special Occasion collection for quite some time, and her visit was such a memorable experience for both of us!
Robyn first discovered CMD jewelry through two sales associates at her favorite Long Island shop. While the shop doesn't carry CMD, both gals were wearing square rings that they'd purchased from us online. Robyn couldn’t help but notice their rings and the saleswomen were nice enough to share our Instagram with her. Intrigued, she said she spent hours exploring our website (blush!) and fell head over heels for the Leo Ring, among other pieces like the Catalyst Ring and the Corlies Bracelet. Although she had a more traditional style herself, Robyn was eager to create a “hip and funky” mixed-shaped stack that would truly reflect her personality.
When she arrived for her in-person appointment, I was wearing my elevated (extra gold and diamonds, of course!) version of the square Third Ave Stack, featuring all-gold bands. The moment Robyn saw it, she reconsidered her initial vision and leaned towards a gold-centric design instead.
We dove right into the design process and started playing with a handful of different options. Robyn had a basic idea of what she wanted but wasn’t entirely set on the end design. “That’s why I’m here,” I assured her. We mixed, matched and played until we finally settled on a 14k yellow and rose gold combo that had us both squealing, “YES!!! That’s it!” She loved the Leo Ring but wanted to make it extra blingy with a much larger diamond. So, we crafted a stunning 5mm 14k solid gold band showcasing a gorgeous 4mm diamond, elevating the original design even further. The addition of the gold Catalyst Ring added just the right amount of edge and funk, bringing her unique stack to life without the perfect amount of statement and power.
This experience with Robyn highlights the beauty and great fun of appointments. Whether you’re joining me in person or virtually, coming with a vision or starting point helps me to jump you on your ring journey train to help create something truly unique. Virtual Appointments: During our session, I’ll share photos and videos as we build your stack, so you have a catalog of our creations to help you make the best decision. I've had great success working with clients all across the country this way. Once we finalize your design, I’ll collect payment and then send you a complimentary sizing kit to ensure the perfect fit before we start production on your piece.
Our customized stack designs typically take about 3-5 weeks, depending on the materials.
Trust me when I say that our entire team gets genuinely excited to work on Special Occasion and Bespoke orders, and we keep you in the loop throughout the process. That includes myself, too!
