Mark your calendars! On Thursday, November 7th, from 4pm to 8pm, the vibrant atmosphere of Asbury Park will come alive at the Transparent Clinch Gallery with our first-ever Maker's Market! This special event promises to be an inspiring gathering of creativity, craftsmanship, and community spirit.
For those unfamiliar, the Transparent Clinch Gallery is the brainchild of Danny Clinch, an acclaimed photographer of legendary musicians whose stunning work has graced the pages of Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, and GQ. We're thrilled to have his support as we celebrate local artisans and small businesses in our community.
The idea for the Maker's Market blossomed from my continued desire to foster connections among local creators and the larger community. I recognized a need for a curated marketplace that showcases some of the finer, thoughtfully crafted goods, by local artisans like myself.
I approached two incredible women: Tina, a model featured in our Hand Project Collection, and Maria, who also happens to be Danny's wife. Together, we envisioned an event that highlighted unique artisans and their products, and also supports the local community. Supporting small businesses is so crucial in maintaining the vibrancy of Asbury Park.
The Transparent Clinch Gallery has generously opened its doors for this event, creating a perfect backdrop for our gathering of talented makers.
We’re excited to showcase an exceptional lineup of small businesses that embody the spirit of creativity and craftsmanship:
Brinn Bags: Discover beautiful bags designed by Ciara, who also happens to be CMD’s talented photographer. I’m a proud owner of several Brinn bags and can’t wait for you to also discover her exquisite line of goods.
Colleen Mauer Designs: That’s us! Our dedicated team of five creates handmade jewelry for every occasion. I’ll be showcasing our newest collections and offering custom stack options at The Ring Bar.
Elizabeth Grubaugh: Known for her stunning artwork for the Sea Hear Now event, I’m eager to connect with Elizabeth and see her unique creations in real life!
Hair Pop-Out Mania: Meet Dylan, a local innovator I encountered at Porchfest. His incredible creations are a must-see, and I can't wait for you to check them out! I know I’ll be snagging one of this super funky sweat suits!
Lovelight Handmade: If you've been following us, you've heard me talk about Lovelight. These are dear friends of mine and truly incredible makers who have become known for their handmade ceramic, refillable candles. I have them all over my home! I'm thrilled to be collaborating on not one, but two planned upcoming events. We're hosting our holiday event together this year, too. Get more info here.
Oshin Oil: Marilyn, the visionary behind Oshin Oil, is not just a talented creator but also my neighbor! I’m excited to showcase her luxurious oils, which I’ve proudly offered up my hands to model for. She was also one of our amazing Hand Project models! I was also just featured in a blog post on their site. If you don’t own Oshin Oil yet, do yourself a favor and grab a bottle (or three)!
Sweet Dani B: If you haven’t tasted Dani’s cookies, you’re in for a treat! She's an incredible artist and her cookie-making classes will surely delight your taste buds and score you some new skills in the kitchen. I’ve personally taken one of her classes, such a fun activity with creative pals!
The Maker's Market will be so much more than just shopping; it’s an opportunity to connect with local artisans and explore the talent that makes Asbury Park so special. Join us for an evening of creativity, conversation, and community spirit. We all can’t wait to see you there!
Stay tuned for more updates, and don’t forget to spread the word!
