Feels like yesterday that I returned from my
backpacking trip in Southeast Asia… I was 26 and filled with a newfound confidence. I had been dabbling in jewelry making and found a real love for the craft. I wanted to experiment more and follow my heart's desire to live a creative life. Ironically, my first ever show was in Brielle, NJ after my Gram suggested I showcase my wares at a local craft fair. This was just the beginning of my journey to become a jewelry designer. I had lots of new ideas that still needed sorting, but as I designer I learned that repetition and iteration would guide me creatively. That was 15 years ago and what a wild ride it has been ever since.
As I prepare to embark on my next adventure in a new community across the country, it feels symbolic that my returning to SF for a final time coincides with the 15 year anniversary of CMD in business. Fifteen years of testing the waters, pounding the pavement, and pushing my boundaries. I’ve always wanted to keep learning and finding new ways to express my creativity. I love my job, adore my community, and feel so incredibly embraced as I start this new chapter… it's a very exciting time.
The first week of
in-person appointments has been so meaningful to me. Though I wish I could see my customers' faces without their masks, the expression of support in their eyes and many sweet words more than suffice. I'm also grateful to have an incredible team of superwomen who are by my side as we continue to adapt and find new ways of running this sweet little jewelry business. I hope you come along for the ride. 🙂
I've found a new home for the CMD Shop in Asbury Park, New Jersey (just miles from where I grew up)! I'll be 1/2 a mile from the warm Atlantic and just a 45 minute drive to Manhattan. I have a beautiful new space which will be open by appointment (both in person and virtually). Book your appointment
here, and keep up with me and everything new at CMD by texting TELLMEFIRST to +1 732-838-7535. I look forward to this new beginning. 🙂
