What started as one woman's creative experiment in San Francisco more than two decades ago has grown into a small, women-powered jewelry company rooted on the East Coast. Today, I design from The CMD Shop in Asbury Park, New Jersey, while my talented team handcrafts every piece to order in our Upstate New York production studio.
A lot has changed along the way, but the heart of CMD hasn't. We’re still making jewelry thoughtfully, by hand, with an eye for unexpected details and plenty of room for you to make it your own. Whether it's sterling silver and gold-fill Everyday Armor, a solid 14k gold Special Occasion piece, or a one-of-a-kind Custom or Reconstruction piece, I believe the jewelry you love should be worn, lived in and made part of your story.
I’m a lifelong maker and industrial designer turned jewelry designer. More than 20 years after founding CMD, I’m still happiest with a sketchbook nearby, jewelry on my hands and a new idea taking shape. Get to know how I got here, what inspires me and why connection has always been at the heart of what I do.
Every piece begins with an idea and a sketch. I design from Asbury Park, and then our small production team brings each piece to life by hand in Upstate New York. From forming and soldering to stone setting, finishing and final inspection, there are real people behind every step.
The CMD Shop is my creative home base in Asbury Park, where I design and meet with clients both in person and virtually. Stop by during scheduled Open Hours to play at The Ring Bar and try on finished pieces, or book a complimentary consult or appointment to talk Custom or Reconstruction jewelry with me.
We’re a small, all-women team spread across New Jersey, Upstate New York and Connecticut, working closely together from design and production to the website and everything in between. We each bring something different to CMD, and that collaboration is a big part of what keeps this small business moving, growing and evolving.
