When will my order ship?
All orders ship via USPS Priority Insured mail at a table rate where the insurance will be based on the value of the packages contents. All of our jewelry will ship within 2-7 business days. Expedited shipping is also available. Please see shipping and returns section of our website for more details.
Are there any stores in my area that carry the CMD collection?
We hope so! Check out our current list of stores on our RETAILERS page. Would you like to see CMD carried in your favorite boutique? We are ALWAYS open to suggestions – simply fill out our contact form and we will do our very best to make your requests happen! In addition, we are always looking for new boutiques and stores with similar aesthetics and visions to carry our collection.
I love my necklace, but it broke. Can you fix it?
We are more than happy to repair your CMD necklace. If you have purchased a necklace and the chain breaks, we will happily replace it (free of charge) within a year of purchase. After one year, a fee may incur. If you have had your necklace for a few years and you wear it everyday, we recommend a chain replacement. We offer full chain replacements on any of our necklaces. Chain replacements range from $25 – $60, depending on the style of necklace and the material used. We stand behind the quality of CMD jewelry and we want you looking (and feeling) fabulous when wearing it. Can I change my order?
Once your online order has been placed, it cannot be changed online. However, if you would like to change something, be sure to call us right away and we can do our best to make the needed changes. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org ASAP to notify us of any changes you would like to make. Customer service is available Tuesday-Saturday, 11:00am – 7:00pm PST. Closed Sundays. I ordered a ring and it doesn’t fit — can I get a different size?
Of course! As stated in our stacking ring description pages, we recommend that you go half a size larger than your “normal” ring size to accommodate the width of the ring. If you order a ring and the size isn’t quite right, we can exchange it for a different size; no problem at all. Please send us a note in our contact form and we will send you an RA# and further instructions on how to get a new size!
My oxidized (black) rings have faded — can you re-oxidize them?
We are more than happy to give your rings complimentary re-oxidation. Oxidation is a patina over silver and it will naturally start to rub off over time. To help preserve the oxidation, it is recommended that you take your ring off when washing your hands, showering, etc. We also recommend that when you are not wearing your oxidized jewelry, to keep it in a box or bag, avoiding contact with other jewelry (especially those with unknown metals or alloys). Of course, we are offering complimentary re-oxidation so you can periodically have us “spruce up” your ring and have it look new again. Send us a note on our contact form to request an RA number and more directions on how to get the rings back to our studio.
What if I’m purchasing to send as a gift?
How super-sweet of you! As you navigate to checkout, put a little note in our ADD COMMENTS ABOUT YOUR ORDER and we will be sure to include a little extra love with your gift. Would you like us to also include a note? No problem! Just let us know what to write and we will confirm your message in an email, along with the ship date of your package!
I lost one of my CMD earrings — can I purchase just one earring replacement?
Absolutely! We are more than happy to sell you just one CMD earring. The price for the earring will be exactly half the price, as listed on our website. This price does not include tax or shipping. We do like to have the original earring so we can make sure that the specifications are exact — we also like to polish up the lone earring so when we return the pair to you….well, they’ll look brand spanking new! Please send us a note through our contact form and we will send you more information on how to get one single earring replacement. Where is CMD jewelry designed and produced?
Each piece of Colleen Mauer Designs jewelry is handcrafted in the Mission District of San Francisco by a small team of jewelry artisans. Colleen designs using texture, color, sounds and tones as tools to transform simple materials into unique pieces of jewelry. Colleen’s work celebrates simple geometries and organic forms, accented by her signature wire wrapped details. My CMD jewelry isn’t quite as shiny as it used to be — how do I clean it?
Let’s get your jewelry shiny and new! We take pride in our wares and the last thing we want if for your CMD jewelry to be lackluster (gasp!). If you would like us to clean it for you, we offer life-long cleanings on all of our jewelry. There are two ways we recommend doing this:
1 – Let us clean it for you — for free!
If you would like us to clean it for you, please send us a note on our contact form for more instruction on how to get a complimentary cleaning on your jewelry. Usually this service can be done in 24-72 hours if you live in San Francisco. If you live outside of San Francisco, the complimentary service can be done within 7-14 business days. The customer will be responsible for shipping costs.
2 – Use a Sunshine Cloth!
We have looked near and far for the best polishing cloth on the market and we have found it! Sunshine Cloths are ahhhhhmazing. You can use a cloth to gently wipe your CMD jewelry. SPECIAL NOTE: do not use on oxidized jewelry as the cloth will rub off the black patina. Be gentle when using the cloth — a soft rub goes a long way!
